In a statement released on Wednesday, after the meeting that was presided by President William Ruto, the Head of State instructed Kenya Kwanza Coalition, to strengthen the ongoing political partnership and negotiate a coalition agreement with opposition party which formed broad based agreement with Kenya Kwanza government, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has refuted their effort, noting that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leadership is inviting self destructionby allowing President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to make inroads into traditional ODM strongholds.
Through his post on his official X account, the vocal legislator claimed that ODM if facing imminent doom through her internal chaos, followed by new political factions, which are reportedly weakening the party from within.
Therefore, Amisi warned as ODM leaders engages on premature succession battles and internal power struggles the UDA party is capitalising on ODM’s internal wrangles to penetrate regions touted as Raila Odinga’s political backyard.
“As ODM is busy sponsoring youths to attack and kill Caleb Amisi, @edwinsifuna, and @HEBabuOwino, new parties are being launched by Eliud Owalo and David Ochieng. And UDA is getting inroads into ODM strongholds, including Nyanza and Western,” Amisi stated.
He continued by claiming that President William Ruto is trying to reach a deal with a deceased ODM in order to easily swallow it, just as he did with Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC).
“Ask Mudavadi where his party is. Ruto does not need you in full. He needs you in pieces,” Amisi stated.
