Former Nyeri Town MP, Ngunjiri Wambugu, has claimed that DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua's is afraid of visiting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's grave in Bondo because of his loose tongue.
Gachagua also skipped Raila's funeral service at Nyayo Stadium and remains mum as fellow national leaders, including those from his own Mt Kenya region, continue to troop to condole with Raila's family.
Wambugu, once a close ally of the former Deputy President, claims he is being held back by reckless remarks he made right before Raila's death, which appeared to mock his health challenges.
"A week or so before Raila's death he said some very terrible things about how they are not responsible for Raila's sickness. It's because of that one statement that he hasn't been able to go to Bondo," he said on Citizen TV's Daybreak show on Monday.
He has also stressed the need for leaders to be very careful with their words, to avoid complicating things for themselves.
