RIP: The Last Painful Words a Policewoman Said Before Committing Suicide at Kisii Police Station

The circumstances surrounding the final moments of police signaller Marjorie Bosibori have emerged as detectives continue investigating her death at Kisii Central Police Station, an incident that has left colleagues, family members and residents in shock.

According to preliminary police reports, the 42-year-old officer returned to the station shortly after midnight after completing an assignment at a supermarket in Kisii town alongside another officer.

Before leaving her colleague, Bosibori reportedly said she was going to the washroom.

However, investigators now believe she instead entered the station's communication room, locked herself inside and never came out.

Kisii Central Sub-County Police Commander Musa Imamai said Bosibori had earlier resumed duty after briefly visiting her home in Birongo, Kisii County.

Fellow officers described her as calm, disciplined and professional throughout the day.

They said she interacted normally with colleagues, shared lunch with them and showed no visible signs of distress. They also noted that she rarely spoke about her personal life.

The tragic discovery was made on Tuesday morning when an officer reporting for duty found the communication room locked.

After repeated attempts to get a response failed, officers forced the door open and found Bosibori seated on a chair with a fatal gunshot wound to her chest. An AK-47 rifle was lying beside her.

Investigators recovered a spent cartridge, a magazine containing 29 rounds of ammunition, three mobile phones, several medications and the key to the communication room.

Police noted that Bosibori had been entrusted with duties in the highly sensitive communication room because of her exemplary service record and professionalism.

Her body was taken to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death.

Detectives are continuing with investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether personal or family-related challenges may have contributed, while authorities await the outcome of forensic examinations before drawing any conclusions.
