Why Betty Bayo May Not be Buried at her Home as Close Friend Reveals Private Conversation With Hubby

The gospel fraternity continues to mourn the untimely death of celebrated singer Betty Bayo, who succumbed to leukaemia.

However, as burial plans begin, uncertainty looms over where the musician will be laid to rest.

According to her close friend, Ngaruiya Junior, Betty may not be buried at her family home in Kiambaa as many expected.

Speaking in an interview, Ngaruiya revealed that Betty and her husband, Tash, had earlier discussed their future plans and burial wishes during a private conversation.

“I don’t think she’ll be buried in Kiambaa. She and Tash had bought a piece of land in Maragua, and they had even planned to build a home there,” Ngaruiya said.

“During one of our talks, she mentioned how much she loved that place. Tash even said he would wish to be buried there. I believe that is where she will be laid to rest, although the final decision lies with her family.”

Ngaruiya also disclosed that he had tried to contact Betty’s ex-husband, Pastor Victor Kanyari, to inform him of her worsening health condition, but his calls went unanswered.

He noted that later, gospel artist Loise Kim managed to reach Kanyari and update him about Betty’s situation before she was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital.

Meanwhile, preparations for Betty’s burial are ongoing, with a committee formed to oversee the process.

The team has reportedly drafted a budget of KSh 5 million to give the gospel star a dignified send-off.

Fans and fellow gospel artists have continued to flood social media with heartfelt tributes, celebrating Betty Bayo’s contribution to Kenya’s gospel music and her inspiring faith journey.
