Political activities in the country are gaining momentum ahead of the by elections that will be held on 27th November which is next week.
Two main teams: Broad-based and United Opposition, are in fierce contest to bag the seats.
By the look of things, there are three Constituency seats that the Broadbased is likely to bag. These seats include Kasipul, Ugunja and Magarini.
1. Kasipul Constituency
This seat fell vacant following the demise of the former MP Charles Ong'ondo Were. Two main horses in the race to succeed Ong'ondo Were are Boyd Were of ODM and Philip Aroko who is vying as an independent candidate.
Mizani Africa did an opinion poll in Kasipul and found out that Boyd is the most popular candidate in the race with 55.1% support. On the other hand, Philip Aroko is second with 29.5% support.
2. Ugunja Constituency
This seat became vacant after the former MP Opiyo Wandayi was appointed the CS for Energy. The seat attracted more than ten candidates who were cleared by IEBC.
According to the poll that was conducted by Mizani Africa, Moses Omondi of ODM is the most popular candidate with 55.6%.
This is far ahead of his close competitor Fredrick Ochiel who has 5.1%. It will be difficult for other candidates to catch up with Moses in this race by the time of the election.
3. Magarini Constituency
Harrison Kombe has made a comeback after his election was nullified. He is contesting on ODM ticket and will face other candidates like Stanley Karisa of DCP, Michael Thoya, Kalama Wehu among others.
The latest opinion poll that was conducted by Mizani Africa revealed that Harrison has a huge following of 54.5%.
His close competitor is Stanley Karisa who has 25.6% support. This means ODM is having high chances of bagging the seat.
