Rarieda residents are in disbelief after a tragic incident occurred in Ojelo village, where a six-year-old boy was allegedly killed by his uncle.
The child, named Tyron Onyango, was enjoying a typical afternoon of play with friends when a conflict with his uncle turned deadly.
The incident took place on November 19, 2025. Reports indicate that Denis Ouma Nyahinda, the boy's 31-year-old uncle, became frustrated by the noise made by the children playing nearby.
As the noise continued, Ouma stepped outside and asked the kids to be quieter. When they didn't listen, he reportedly lost his temper.
Witnesses say that Tyron was playing near his grandmother's compound at the time.
When Ouma emerged with a machete, Tyron ran toward his grandmother's home, likely in an attempt to escape.
Unfortunately, Ouma was quick and caught up with him, using the machete to inflict serious injuries on the boy.
After the attack, neighbors quickly found Tyron's body in a pool of blood.
They were horrified and immediately called local police for help.
Officers arrived at the scene and apprehended Ouma, who was still there when they arrived.
The police have launched an investigation into the events leading up to the boy's death.
Detectives are gathering statements from witnesses and collecting any evidence that can help explain what happened.
Once they have completed their investigation, they will present their findings to the Director of Public Prosecutions for possible charges against Ouma.
