She had recently graduated from South Eastern Kenya University, where she was not only a student but also a beauty queen who won a pageant during her time there.
After completing her studies, Bebina was working hard to find a job while also creating fun TikTok videos that entertained her fans.
So, it came as a shock to everyone when they learned that she had died suddenly in her home.
Bebina’s best friend, Maureen Maina, shared that she was living alone and had faced many challenges in life.
Maureen revealed that Bebina lost her mother when she was very young; her mother died in an accident involving an elephant, and this left Bebina responsible for taking care of her younger brothers.
“She came from a humble background and worked really hard to support her family,” Maureen said.
Last Thursday, Maureen received a worrying call from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), asking her to go to Bebina's house. When she arrived, she found Bebina’s body.
Neighbors had noticed a foul smell coming from the house, which led them to check on her. When they found her, they quickly called the police.
After her body was discovered, there was confusion among her relatives.
When they were told of her death, they were reluctant to approach her body and did not want to proceed with the burial right away.
This placed a heavy burden on Maureen, who had to start making funeral arrangements in a town she didn’t know well.
Eventually, Bebina was laid to rest. Her funeral was attended by many friends and family, but the absence of some relatives was noticeable.
Maureen explained that Bebina had been the main provider for her family, paying for her younger brothers’ school fees. Now with her gone, the future feels uncertain for them.
“Now we have to make sure Bebina’s brothers continue their education and have food,” Maureen said.
