A cloud of sorrow has engulfed a family after the sudden death of 19-year-old university student Sesethu Enhle Mboza, whose lifeless body was found inside her hostel room at Nelson Mandela University.
According to reports, the second-year student had spoken to her mother in a heartbreaking 3 a.m. phone call shortly before she was discovered dead.
The emotional conversation has since left many shaken as details of her final moments continue to emerge.
Mboza’s mother shared that she had been unable to reach her daughter for two days.
She said she had sent her several messages without receiving any response, which made her increasingly worried.
On Friday, she felt a strange urge to act more forcefully and began contacting her daughter’s friends, asking them to check on her in her room.
They later informed her that Mboza was not opening the door and that it appeared to be locked.
Shortly after, the mother received a call from the property owner informing her that her daughter had died.
The devastated mother said her daughter had called her at around 3 a.m., crying as she revealed that she had been abused shortly before her death.
She explained that it had taken her daughter a lot of strength to open up about what had happened, and hearing her story left her deeply saddened.
She added that she was still struggling to come to terms with the tragedy, saying she could barely function but was relying on her family’s support to get through each day.
Police have since launched investigations as the family seeks answers into the mysterious death of the young student whose bright future was tragically cut short.
May her soul rest in peace.
