Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo has stirred emotions in Busia County after delivering a heartfelt speech urging Kenyans to honour the late Raila Odinga in a powerful and practical way.
Speaking before a charged crowd of ODM supporters, Omanyo said the best tribute to the fallen opposition leader was not through tears or words, but through hard work and political unity.
She declared that “the only way to make Baba happy is to keep ODM alive and strong.”
Omanyo reminded the crowd that Raila Odinga had devoted his entire life to building the Orange Democratic Movement into a national movement for justice and equality.
She described Raila as a political farmer who “planted seeds of hope and democracy across Kenya.”
According to her, these seeds now represent the party’s loyal supporters and strong structures that must be nurtured to grow.
She told the audience that ODM was not a temporary movement but a permanent force in Kenya’s political history.
“ODM is here to stay,” she said firmly, sparking cheers from the crowd.
The legislator went on to challenge ODM members to work tirelessly ahead of the 2027 general election.
She said that true loyalty to Raila means turning his dreams into reality by ensuring ODM wins every contested seat—from MCA to the presidency.
Omanyo’s message was both emotional and motivational. She said that by securing victory in 2027, Kenyans would be showing gratitude for Raila’s sacrifices and years of struggle for democracy.
“From wherever Baba is, he will look down and smile if we win together as one family,” she told the crowd.
