"You Will Lose By a Range Of Atleast 2 Million Votes" Kalonzo's Close Ally Tells Ruto After Controversial Remarks About 2027 Poll

Makueni Senator Daniel Maanzo has criticised President William Ruto, saying the President has failed to deliver what he promised Kenyans during the 2022 general election.

Speaking during a public address, Senator Maanzo reacted to President Ruto’s recent statement that he will win the 2027 election by a margin of three million votes. Maanzo strongly disagreed, saying the mood in the country shows the opposite.

“I hear the President say this time he will win with three million votes. I believe he will lose with three million votes,” Maanzo said. He explained that many Kenyans are unhappy because of the high cost of living, heavy taxes and lack of jobs.

The senator said President Ruto campaigned on promises to improve the economy, reduce the cost of basic goods and support ordinary citizens. However, he claimed those promises have not been fulfilled, leaving many families struggling to survive.

Maanzo also spoke about the President’s cooperation with ODM, saying the ruling side should not assume that ODM can be weakened easily. He insisted that ODM remains strong and cannot be “swallowed” politically.

“As much as he wants to swallow ODM, I don’t think ODM will be swallowable,” he said. Maanzo added that many leaders close to President Ruto may fail to be re-elected because voters feel betrayed.

According to the senator, Kenyans are judging leaders based on performance, not words. He said people want real solutions to rising prices, unemployment and economic hardship.

Maanzo warned that early campaigns and political alliances will not help if the government does not change its approach. He urged President Ruto to focus on delivering services and easing the burden on citizens.

His remarks reflect growing criticism from opposition leaders and members of the public who feel the Kenya Kwanza government has moved away from its campaign promises.

As the 2027 election approaches, issues of cost of living and governance are expected to dominate political discussions across the country.
