Moses Kuria Hospitalised? Former CS Sets the Record Straight

Former Cabinet Secretary and Chama Cha Kazi leader Moses Kuria has officially dismissed widespread rumors claiming he is hospitalized.

The vocal politician clarified his status via social media, insisting he remains in good health and active.

The rumors intensified on January 5, 2026, after several social media accounts shared images suggesting a high-profile blogger had visited Kuria in a medical facility.

These claims quickly went viral, causing significant concern among his political supporters.

Kuria swiftly responded on his X account, describing the reports as pure propaganda.

He accused his political rivals of orchestrating a misinformation campaign intended to distract the public from his recent hard-hitting questions regarding national governance.

In a direct swipe, Kuria linked the fake news to supporters of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

He claimed the "hospitalization narrative" was a desperate attempt by his detractors to silence his frequent critiques of regional political influence.

This health scare follows a period of heightened political activity for Kuria.

He recently attended a burial in Murang’a County on January 3, 2026, where he vocally challenged opposition to President William Ruto’s broad-based government and development agenda.

Kuria characterized the rumors as a "battle royale" between himself and those he deems dangerous to the country's stability.

He promised to continue his political duties without interruption, declaring that no amount of fake news would slow him.

Political analysts note that health rumors are frequently used in Kenyan politics to destabilize leaders.

By coming out early to deny the claims, Kuria aimed to maintain his momentum as he prepares for the upcoming 2027 General Election.

While Kuria has previously suffered serious health challenges, including a prolonged recovery from electric blanket burns in 2021, he emphasized that this current situation is entirely fabricated. He reassured Kenyans that he is physically fit and ready.

Kuria’s dismissals have been supported by recent public appearances where he appeared energetic.

He urged his followers to ignore "fake lapdogs" spreading falsehoods and instead focus on the substantive political debates currently shaping the nation’s future
