According to Malala, Koimburi approached the DCP leadership with the expectation of being handed a direct nomination ticket without going through the party’s internal processes. This demand, he explained, went against the party’s principles of fairness, consultation, and respect for established structures. The request was presented directly to the party leader, who declined to grant special treatment.
Malala stated that once it became clear that the DCP would not bend its rules to favor one individual, Koimburi chose to leave and return to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). He argued that this move confirmed long-held doubts about Koimburi’s intentions, noting that his interest was never in building the party or strengthening its grassroots presence.
