Gladys Wanga, Junet Mohamed Face Backlash Over Claims Linked to the Late Raila- Details

Cleophas Malala has ignited fresh political debate after accusing Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga of betraying the ideals long championed by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking during a public forum on Monday, the former Kakamega senator claimed that key figures within the Orange Democratic Movement were abandoning the party’s reformist spirit in favour of personal and political convenience. Malala argued that recent political realignments and cooperation with the Kenya Kwanza administration have left many long-time ODM supporters confused and frustrated.

“Raila Odinga sacrificed his entire political life for democracy, justice and the rights of ordinary Kenyans,” Malala said. “What we are witnessing now is a quiet betrayal of those principles by leaders who once claimed to stand firmly with him.”

Malala singled out Junet Mohamed, the influential Suna East MP, accusing him of using his position to push political deals that do not reflect the wishes of ODM’s grassroots supporters. He also criticised Governor Gladys Wanga, saying her recent tone and engagements at national level suggest a shift away from the party’s traditional opposition role.
