Among those present were Fred Matiangi, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa.
The gathering marked the first public appearance of Gachagua at a United Opposition meeting attended by Matiangi, attracting significant attention from political observers.
In her social media post, Martha noted, “The United Opposition converged at the PLP headquarters before attending the NDC of DP Party.
The United Opposition consists of many political parties and fully supports the spirit of multiparty.”
Eugene Wamalwa joined his colleagues hours after holding a meeting with Cooperatives and SMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya.
His engagement followed a public urging by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula to join the emerging political alliance.
In a statement shared on his social media pages, Wamalwa briefed Kenyans on his discussion with CS Oparanya.
He noted that the two have worked together in the past and will continue to collaborate in pursuit of unity for Western Kenya.
He encouraged citizens to “watch that space” as efforts toward regional cohesion progress.
According to some the PLP headquarters meeting is a clear signal of growing coordination among opposition leaders.
It provides a platform to align strategies, foster collaboration, and demonstrate commitment to multiparty democracy.
While other alleges that, The "United Opposition" is united only in name. Unless they can solve the Gachagua variable how to use his numbers without succumbing to his ego—they will be easy pickings for the Hustler machine in 2027.
