Twist as DCI Finally Reveals the True Owner of the Mercedes Jirongo Was Driving Before He Died

New findings have emerged in the investigation into the fatal road crash that claimed the life of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo along the Nairobi-Naivasha highway.

Authorities have now confirmed that the vehicle involved in the tragedy was not owned by the late politician.

Directorate of Criminal Investigation detectives revealed that records from the National Transport and Safety Authority show that the white Mercedes Benz Jirongo was driving is registered to Smart Cars Limited.

The revelation has added a new layer to the circumstances surrounding the deadly collision that occurred at Karai in the early hours of the morning.

CCTV footage obtained from a nearby petrol station has further raised questions about Jirongo's final moments.

The footage shows that he briefly entered the station shortly after two in the morning but did not fuel.

Instead, he made a quick turn and exited back onto the highway seconds before the crash.

Contrary to claims made by the bus driver involved in the accident, the footage indicates that the road was clear and that there was no overtaking at the time.

The same footage also captured a white Probox vehicle entering the station moments after Jirongo, which has sparked speculation that he may have been followed.

Analysts reviewing the sequence of events say the timing of the two vehicles has prompted investigators to examine whether Jirongo altered his route shortly before the crash.

Further details indicate that Jirongo had earlier skipped a planned social gathering and was later seen in Nairobi attending a private meeting with senior political figures.

The new disclosures have deepened public interest as investigators continue piecing together the events that led to his sudden death.
