Tensions In ODM As Vocal MP Threatens To Quit Party If Denied Ticket, States The Following

Tension is rising in Migori County as Uriri MP Mark Nyamita faces Governor Ochilo Ayacko. Both leaders were elected on the ODM ticket in 2022.

Their rivalry has grown into a fierce contest. Supporters from each camp now clash in public forums.

Nyamita has warned he may leave ODM if the party favors Ayacko in nominations. He says he will seek another party if the process is unfair. His warning piles pressure on ODM leaders. Past primaries faced complaints over transparency.

The MP says his time has come to lead Migori as governor. After serving two terms in parliament he feels ready. Nyamita argues the county needs fresh thinking. He insists leadership must be about vision.

He has coined the slogan Ochilo Byeee which excites his supporters. It has also angered his rivals. Nyamita claims the race will pit money against ideas. He says ideas will win.

Nyamita says he is not seeking power through family influence. He urges voters to judge his record in Uriri. He says his manifesto outlines clear priorities. He promises honest service.

According to him Migori has lagged due to weak leadership. He claims many projects have stalled. He says the next governor must push officers to deliver. Strong supervision is missing.

He raised concern about the health sector in the county. Nyamita says hospitals lack medicine. Residents are forced to seek care elsewhere. He promises reforms if elected.

The MP also points to poor infrastructure despite rich resources. Migori borders Lake Victoria. It has sugar factories and gold mines. He says locals see little benefit.

Nyamita highlights education as his top achievement. Schools in Uriri have improved greatly. He promises similar progress countywide. Skills training is key.

He defended his visit to State House after President Ruto’s win. Nyamita says it delivered real projects. They include a Level Four hospital. A technical college now serves many students.

He says he has no regrets over the move. Nyamita insists development matters most. He says Migori deserves results. Politics will not build hospitals.
