Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have visited Parkplace Hotel in Karen, Nairobi, as part of their ongoing investigation into the death of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.
The late minister is believed to have spent time at the hotel with close allies hours before his fatal accident in Naivasha.
Personnel at the hotel, including the owner and staff who attended to Jirongo, were questioned by detectives on Saturday.
The hotel owner declined to comment on the matter, citing that investigations are still underway.
This latest development comes after police also questioned individuals at Oasis Karen Plains Hotel, another establishment Jirongo visited before his demise.
The late MP was reportedly a frequent visitor to Parkplace Hotel, often meeting with close friends and associates.
CCTV footage from Eagol Petrol Station along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway shows Jirongo's Mercedes-Benz entering the premises at 2:18 a.m. on December 13, 2025.
He drove past the fuel pumps without refueling and made a U-turn, rejoining the highway towards Nairobi at 2:19:17 a.m.
Moments later, a Climax Coaches bus crashed into his vehicle, dragging it 25 meters.
An autopsy conducted on Jirongo's body revealed that he died from severe blunt force trauma and crush injuries to the chest, abdomen, and spine.
The report noted multiple rib fractures, a perforated heart, and internal bleeding in the chest and abdominal cavities.
Jirongo's body will be buried on December 30, 2025, at his rural home in Lumakanda, Kakamega County.
His wives, Christine Nyokabi, Anne Kanini, and Anne Lanoi, are overseeing the funeral arrangements.
A four-day funeral program has been announced, with services held at Christ Is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) on Valley Road, Nairobi, and his Kitale home.
