More Cracks Looms In Opposition As Kalonzo Dismisses Gachagua's DCP Deal With Wiper, Details

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed claims that his party has entered a secret agreement to hand over all Nairobi elective seats to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP).

Speaking on Sunday, November 30, during a thanksgiving service in Machakos County, Kalonzo termed the reports as baseless propaganda engineered to sow division within the Opposition.

The Wiper boss told the congregation that those spreading the rumours were intent on driving a wedge between him and Gachagua, insisting that the Opposition remains united and focused as the country heads towards the 2027 General Election.

He noted that the unity displayed during last week’s by-elections had unsettled government operatives, who were now resorting to misinformation to create confusion among supporters.

Kalonzo maintained that no such deal exists and accused those behind the narrative of attempting to undermine the trust the Opposition has built across Nairobi and other regions.

He added that the claims were meant to incite suspicion among supporters in the capital by suggesting that Wiper had secretly surrendered political ground.

“Watu waache hii propaganda wanasema ati Wiper imeachia DCP viti vyote Nairobi. They have to try everything wagonganishe Kalonzo na Rigathi Gachagua, that will not happen,” he said.

He also dismissed reports published in the media alleging that the government was in the process of quietly assembling a 2027 coalition to counter the Opposition.

According to him, such an arrangement would collapse before taking off.

The Wiper leader assured supporters that all decisions regarding Nairobi politics would be made transparently and through consultations within the coalition.

He urged Kenyans to ignore divisive narratives and remain focused on unity and truth as the 2027 political season approaches.

Kalonzo further emphasized that the Opposition will continue strengthening its national networks to safeguard democratic space and offer an alternative vision for the country.
