Fresh Twist As Oburu Oginga Confirms ODM Remains Part of Broad-Based Government

ODM party leader Oburu Oginga has stirred conversations across Nairobi and beyond by affirming that his party continues to be part of Kenya’s broad-based government.

Speaking to party loyalists, he noted that despite Raila Odinga’s exit from government arrangements, ODM intends to work closely with President William Ruto until the end of his term.

Oginga’s comments come as political watchers speculate on ODM’s future alliances, particularly in the wake of Raila Odinga’s retirement from active politics.

He emphasized that the party’s commitment to government collaboration is not merely symbolic but will translate into practical cooperation in policy implementation and national development agendas.

He clarified that the arrangement is meant to safeguard national cohesion and stability, noting that ODM’s presence in the government ensures that checks and balances remain in place.

This stance has sent ripples through political circles, especially among opposition parties who expected ODM to pivot entirely away from government partnerships.

Oburu highlighted that working with President Ruto does not compromise ODM’s identity or its role as a voice for Kenyans who have supported the party over the years.

Instead, it provides an avenue to influence decision-making directly and ensure that development reaches ordinary citizens, particularly in historically marginalized regions.

Analysts say this move is strategic, positioning ODM to benefit from government resources while maintaining a degree of independence.

It also signals a potential realignment of political dynamics ahead of the next election cycle, as parties recalibrate their strategies in response to evolving alliances.

The party leader concluded by calling for unity among ODM supporters, urging them to embrace this continued partnership as a means to deliver results for the Kenyan people rather than engaging in divisive politics.
