2027 Battle Lines Drawn as Kalonzo Unveils His Manifesto

Wiper Patriotic Front leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has set out a bold political manifesto in his end-of-year message, crystallising his agenda as Kenya approaches the 2027 general election and positioning himself as a central figure in the United Opposition’s challenge to President William Ruto’s administration.

In a statement shared at the close of 2025, Kalonzo called for national unity, justice and political reforms, urging Kenyans to transcend tribal and partisan divides in pursuit of a more equitable and accountable government.

He framed his message around moral renewal and national reflection as the country celebrated the festive season, stressing the need for wisdom and courage among leaders.

Kalonzo’s manifesto themes focus on fundamental issues such as improving healthcare, combating corruption and ensuring accountability in public institutions—among them the Social Health Authority, which he described as plagued by graft and inefficiency.

He also reiterated his opposition to the current government’s economic choices, signalling that a future administration under his leadership would prioritise transparent governance, economic reform and broader access to essential services for ordinary Kenyans.
