What Mbeere Residents Told Kindiki As He Launched An Attack On Gachagua During Mbeere North Campaign

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki intensified the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) campaigns in Mbeere North on Monday evening, where he delivered a sharp rebuke of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, signalling deep fissures within the ruling party.

Kindiki, accompanied by a host of local leaders, urged a packed crowd to unite behind the UDA candidate in the upcoming by-election, emphasising the party’s commitment to delivering development to the constituency.

He dismissed opposition voices as lacking a clear agenda for the people of Mbeere North.

The DP’s most pointed remarks, however, were reserved for his colleague, DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua.

Kindiki accused Gachagua of attempting to “impose himself” on the Mt Kenya region by portraying himself as its undisputed kingpin.

He further criticised Gachagua for allegedly disrespecting Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and other local leaders, warning that such divisive politics would be firmly confronted.

In a dramatic moment captured on video, Kindiki turned to the crowd and posed a rhetorical question:

“Kwani hii dunia ni yake? Kwani yeye ni Mungu?” (Is this world his? Is he God?).

The crowd roared back with a resounding “Apana!” (No!), loudly dismissing any notion of Gachagua’s dominance.

Concluding his address, the Deputy President directly asked residents if they would back the UDA candidate to fast-track development projects.

The crowd responded with enthusiastic cheers, signalling strong support for the party’s bid as the campaigns enter their critical final stretch.

The by-election is now poised as a key test of influence between the two senior government figures.
