Kabando wa Kabando has warned that President William Ruto could use expected victories in the Magarini, Malava and Mbeere North by elections as a springboard to tighten his grip on power.
According to Kabando, the ruling side appears confident of sweeping the seats, and such results may push the President to reorganize his cabinet in an effort to consolidate control and silence internal critics.
He argued that the administration is under rising pressure from economic frustrations, political dissent and public anger, and that any attempt by the President to rule through fear would only deepen the divide in the country.
Kabando insisted that the moment calls for a strong, united opposition that can check the government and prevent what he described as a drift toward arrogance and excessive centralization of power.
He urged opposition leaders to set aside personal rivalries and build a firm, strategic front that can challenge the President both in Parliament and across the country.
According to him, only sustained unity can stop what he sees as the increasing intolerance of the current leadership and ensure that citizens have a genuine alternative.
Kabando concluded that if the opposition stands together, it can send Ruto home to Sugoi through democratic means.
