Ruto Told He's Being Closely Watched, Warned What'll Happen if he Tries Rigging in 2027

President William Ruto has been warned against attempting any foul play in the 2027 elections, as he seeks to secure a second term.

This is courtesy of Chama Cha Kazi Party Leader Moses Kuria, who says Ruto might be tempted to pull a move similar to the rigging he claims was witnessed in Tanzania last month.

But he has cautioned that Kenyans won't allow such on their land, pointing out that unlike Tanzanians who were easy to contain, Kenyans are a different breed.

According to the former Gatundu South MP, who also served in Ruto's cabinet, the international community is also watching, another reason he says Ruto has no option other than presiding over free and fair elections.

“How we conduct these elections is of interest to the international community. Don't think you can replicate what Suluhu has done in Tanzania because Kenyans won't allow such," he is quoted by the People Daily.

"Don't try such here because Kenyans are not the same as Tanzanians. It will not be business as usual if you try those monkey businesses here in Kenya,” he added.

Samia has been accused of organising a sham in the name of elections, to facilitate her remain in office, at a time when her ruling CCM party has largely lost popularity among Tanzanians.

She has further been accused of doing this by leveraging favourable electoral laws and locking out her main rivals, either through jailing or having them blocked from being in the ballot.

The outcome of the October 29 election, which saw her reelected to office, was nationwide protests and demos, which security agencies quickly suppressed.

Ruto dispatched his deputy, Kithure Kindiki, to attend her swearing-in, which was held in a military facility in Dodoma rather than a national stadium in Dar es Salaam as is the norm.
