Mass Graves in Tanzania: Police Allegedly Bury Victims Alive to Erase Evidence

In a horrifying turn of events Tanzanian police are accused of secretly burying alive scores of victims both dead and seriously wounded in mass graves instead of delivering them to hospitals for treatment or proper handling.

The alleged atrocities took place on the night of October 29–30 under orders purportedly issued directly from the President’s office following widespread protests that shook the nation.

According to eyewitness accounts officers arrived at several major hospitals and identified severely injured patients and deceased individuals.

Claiming they were relocating them to nearby facilities with better capacity the police reportedly loaded bodies and still-breathing patients onto vehicles.

Rather than transporting them to medical institutions however the convoy was taken to pre-prepared mass burial sites.

At these clandestine locations victims were hastily interred some still alive in a chilling effort believed to hide the true extent of the bloodshed.

The atrocity if verified would represent one of the most egregious assaults on human rights in recent memory erasing not only lives but also any trace of the full death toll.

Survivors and families of the missing demand accountability and call for an independent investigation into the orders that allegedly originated at the highest levels of government.

The international community is urged to press for transparent forensic examinations of the gravesites and a public reckoning to ensure justice for the countless lives claimed or destroyed in the aftermath of October’s crackdown.
