Kenyans have now been alerted that it is only a matter of time before their country embraces the dictatorship being witnessed in the region.
Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru Nas cautioned that President William Ruto might not resist what's being done by his East African counterparts any longer.
He has, as a result, advised Kenyans to take early precaution by ensuring he doesn't retain power in 2027, else they will lose their democratic freedoms.
"The entirety of East Africa is overrun with ruthless dictators. Kenyans, beware,William Ruto is dangerously close to crushing our fragile democracy and plunging us into a nightmarish dictatorship," he says on X.
"Stay vigilant, our freedoms are under siege, and the threat is imminent.Act now before tyranny takes hold."
Njiru, a vocal Ruto critic, is among allies of DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua who are calling for changes in 2027 and stressing the need for Kenyans to transfer power to the united opposition.
