Kasipul By-Election Loser Philip Aroko Hints at Political Comeback After Defeat

Kasipul parliamentary aspirant Philip Aroko has subtly indicated that he intends to contest the seat again in the future following his defeat in the by-election held on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Aroko, who ran as an independent candidate, lost to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) contender Boyd Were.

Were emerged victorious with 16,819 votes, nearly double the number Aroko managed to secure.

The result marked a clear win for ODM and showed the continued strength of the party in the region.

Despite the loss, Aroko has remained active on social media.

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, he used his official X account to post messages that strongly hinted at a future political return.

While he did not explicitly declare his intention to run again, the tone of his posts suggested he is preparing for another attempt at representing Kasipul.

In his messages, Aroko thanked his supporters for standing by him during the intense campaign.

He acknowledged their efforts and highlighted the challenges faced during the election, including the influence of well-established political parties and the difficulties of running as an independent candidate in a competitive race.

Political analysts say Aroko’s subtle hints signal a strategy to maintain his political relevance in the area while regrouping and building stronger support for future elections.

Many expect that he will use the coming months to engage more deeply with local communities and to address the issues that resonated during his campaign.

While the by-election outcome was a setback, Aroko’s continued presence in local politics suggests he is determined to remain a key player in Kasipul’s political landscape.
