Kalonzo Musyoka’s Children Represent Him At A Burial Of Dr. Sonnia Nzilani In Makueni

Kalonzo Musyoka’s children, Kevin and Sharon, on Saturday represented their father at the burial of the late Dr. Sonnia Nzilani Musyoka in Makueni County.

The two attended the emotional send-off on behalf of the Wiper Party leader, who shared a detailed written condolence message honouring the late county executive.

In his message, Kalonzo expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Sonnia, describing her as a brilliant, compassionate leader whose life embodied service and excellence.

He noted that her rise in public service was driven by determination, faith, and a strong sense of duty—qualities that earned her key roles in Governor Mutula Kilonzo Junior’s administration.

Dr. Sonnia served as County Executive for both Lands, Urban Planning & Environment and later Trade, Industry, Culture & Tourism, where she earned wide respect for her transformative leadership.

Kalonzo highlighted her academic achievements, including a PhD from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and advanced research work in Amsterdam and at Duke University, praising her decision to return home and use her expertise to uplift Makueni residents.

He also reflected on the emotional impact she had on those around her, recounting what his children referred to as the “Sonnia Effect”—a warm, uplifting presence that inspired many.

Residents, county officials, and the KIWEWE community joined the family in mourning, describing Dr. Sonnia as a visionary leader whose work left a lasting legacy.

Kalonzo extended condolences to her children, Angel and Chuchu, her father James Musyoka, and the entire family, assuring them of continued support.

He added by noting that although Dr. Sonnia is gone, her contributions will continue to influence public service and inspire future generations.
