Speaking in Embu on Saturday, November 29, 2025, Linturi said recent by-election results, while mixed, do not change the larger political trend that he believes will limit Ruto to a single term.
Linturi emphasized that victories for the ruling party in some areas should not be seen as a sign of Ruto’s growing strength.
“These wins will not spare him from the destiny of serving only one term,” he said, addressing fellow opposition leaders and supporters.
The politician took the opportunity to celebrate the United Opposition’s performance in recent by-elections.
Despite not winning in every constituency, he said the coalition has reason to feel proud of its achievements.
He highlighted the dedication of party members who worked tirelessly during the campaigns, acknowledging that some internal challenges, including a few disloyal team members, affected the outcomes.
“My brothers, do not lose hope; we will leave Mbeere with heads held high. The people who were part of our teams have told us we had a few traitors here and there,” Linturi told members of the United Opposition.
His message was clear: setbacks are temporary, but the fight for political change continues.
Linturi also expressed confidence that the opposition remains strong and united. He noted that the coalition has grown in influence and is capable of challenging the ruling party effectively in future elections.
According to him, the by-elections are not just about the wins and losses of a single day but about building a movement that can bring lasting political change.
