Gov't Told Plan to Arrest Kwalwale Will Badly Flop, Reminded What Happened Last Time he Was Detained

Kakamega Senator Boni Kwalwale has cautioned the government against any attempts to arrest him ahead of tomorrow's Malava parliamentary by-election.

He senator has raised this alarm while alleging that there are plans to arrest him and Trans Nzoia governor, George Natembeya, to stop them from campaigning for DAP-K candidate Seth Panyako.

But he has warned of serious consequences should the government try to do this, warning that there would be a public resistance.

Kwalwale has reminded the government of a similar scene in the past, where the police were forced by the public to release him after only 2 hours during previous by-elections in Ikolomani.

"If they want to arrest me, they should summon me instead to the nearest police station and not arrest me in a dramatic manner," he told a crowd in Malava on Wednesday, according to the People Daily.

"They know very well where to find me and a summon is been enough. Any attempt to arrest me in uncouth way will be met with resistance from the public."

He alleged that the government's move to withdraw his security detail meant to make it easier to nab him.

“My security detail has been pulled without any explanation, and I want to make it clear: if this decision was meant to put me at risk or expose me, those responsible need to realize that every action has its consequences. I refuse to be intimidated. The struggle goes on."

Panyako had earlier claimed that DAP-K Party Leader, Eugene Wamalwa, was also earmarked for arrest.
