DAP-K Deputy Party Leader, Ayub Savula, has said he won't support his own party's candidate in the Malava constituency by-election, Seth Panyako.
The Kakamega Deputy Party Leader has stated that he has decided to rally behind UDA's David Ndakwa instead.
He has claimed that supporting Panyako would mean going against his boss; Governor Fernandes Barasa, and sabotage the working agreement between the county government and tne national government
”I am supporting the UDA candidate. I am the DAP Deputy Party leader, but the office I hold as the Deputy Governor of Kakamega, the national government and the county government are bound to work together," he said on Monday.
He also pointed out that the signed a working agreement between DAP and ODM for the Kakamega gubernatorial election, in which they split the office 50-50, bounding him to Barasa's decision.
His move follows a recent announcement by DAP-K Party Leader, Eugene Wamalwa, that the Deputy Party Leader post might soon be handed over to Mumias East MP Peter Salasya.
