Reflecting on the 2022 General Election, Kang’ata noted that UDA benefited significantly from a public perception that it was a victim of political persecution under the then-ruling Jubilee government.
According to him, that “underdog” image helped the party connect strongly with ordinary citizens who felt excluded, ignored, or unfairly targeted by the system at the time.
