Police in Nyando, Kisumu, have arrested a couple in connection with the shocking murder of their 15-year-old daughter.
The incident came to light on April 29, 2026, after the director of a local funeral home alerted authorities when a girl’s body bearing multiple injuries was brought to the facility.
Preliminary investigations established that the deceased’s parents had reportedly transported the body to the mortuary before disappearing from the area.
Officers from Ahero Police Station responded to the report and found the body of the Form Two student, aged 15, with serious injuries.
According to police findings, the body showed signs of severe head trauma, bruises on both hands, stab wounds on both legs, a swollen left foot, and fractures on both kneecaps.
Acting on information from members of the public, officers later tracked down the two suspects at their home in Kakola and placed them under arrest.
The couple is currently being held at Ahero Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
The girl’s body has been preserved at Othoo Funeral Home pending a postmortem examination.
The incident has deeply shocked residents in the area, with many calling for justice as investigators work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.
