Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Duncan Mathenge has this morning revealed that at some moment, things became tricky for himself and President William Ruto Concerning the Mt Kenya region's political support.
Speaking to Citizen TV, the outspoken MP has for the first time and without fear narrated how the Democracy for Citizens' Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua had mastered the art of intimidating people including the president and himself (MP Duncan Mathenge).
To make things more worse, Mathenge says it reached a point he was forced to borrow permission from Gachagua to attend certain places.
"Before the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, he would often intimidate me and insist that I follow him around. He even suggested that I needed his permission to attend events or visit certain places.

"Yet I am an elected Member of Parliament, guided by my own conscience and a clear understanding of what best serves my constituents. There was also an attempt to intimidate the President, with statements such as:
“Even if you impeach me, you can never remove me from the hearts of these people.”
"But at no point did the President indicate any intention to remove Rigathi Gachagua from the support of his base. It is this kind of political intimidation that the President was responding to," MP Duncan Mathenge has told Citizen TV.
