RIP: Photo Of Top Gov't Officer Brutally Murdered While Heading to Work in Nakuru CBD

Residents of Nakuru County have been left in shock and grief following the brutal killing of a senior government officer early in the morning as he was heading to work.

The tragic incident has sparked fear and renewed calls for tighter security in the area.

The victim, Ambrose Omondi, who served as a manager at Kenya Power, was reportedly attacked and stabbed to death by suspected robbers near his home in the Kenlands area within Nakuru town.

According to early reports, the incident happened just a short distance from his gate as he began his usual morning walk to work.

Witnesses and neighbours said Omondi had left his house as he normally did, unaware that danger was lurking nearby.

It is believed that the attackers, who were armed with knives, ambushed him suddenly and fatally wounded him before escaping from the scene.

The shocking incident has left Omondi’s family devastated as they struggle to come to terms with the sudden and violent loss of their loved one.

Friends, colleagues and neighbours described him as a hardworking and humble man who was dedicated to his job and family.

Residents in Kenlands expressed anger and frustration, saying that cases of violent crime have been increasing in several estates across Nakuru County.

Many are now worried about their safety, especially during early morning and late evening hours when criminals tend to strike.

Some locals pointed out that similar incidents have recently been reported in nearby areas such as Barnabas within the Mwariki estate.

In one recent case, a man was reportedly killed during a robbery, raising alarm among residents about the growing insecurity.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, two suspected criminals were lynched by an angry mob a few kilometres from Omondi’s home after they were allegedly caught attempting to commit a crime.

The situation has highlighted the growing tension between residents and suspected criminals in the area.

Police have confirmed that investigations into Omondi’s murder are underway. Authorities say they have received important information about a possible suspect and officers are actively pursuing leads to bring those responsible to justice.

During a recent security crackdown in the region, police recovered 123 mobile phones believed to have been stolen from members of the public.

Fifty of the devices were recovered in Kaptembwa while seventy-three were seized within Nakuru town.

Eight suspects linked to the theft were arrested during the operation.

Nakuru County Police Commander Samuel Bu assured residents that security agencies are working to restore order. He said patrols and intelligence operations have been intensified across the county.

As investigations continue, residents and leaders are urging authorities to take swift action to curb the rising wave of violent crime.

Meanwhile, Omondi’s family and friends continue to mourn his painful loss.

RIP Ambrose Omondi.
