"What Happened?" Mystery As Gospel Singer and 3 Associates Found Dead In Studio

Shock and grief have spread across parts of Nigeria after a gospel singer and three other people were found dead inside a music studio in Lagos under unclear circumstances.

The victims were identified as gospel musician Matthew Ogundele, his associates Joseph Sanya and Itunu Ogundele, and a blogger, Matthew Awosanya, popularly known online as Joes TV. 

Their sudden deaths have left fans, friends, and members of the gospel music community searching for answers.

According to initial reports, the group had been invited to perform during a birthday praise event organized by fellow gospel artiste Olanireti Akinbola. 

The event, which was planned to run for several days, reportedly took place earlier in the week in the Abraham Adesanya area of Ajah, Lagos State.

After finishing their performance late at night, the four are said to have decided to remain in the studio to rest instead of travelling home. However, concern arose the following day when they were not responding to calls or messages.

The alarm was reportedly raised by Akintayo Akinbola, the husband of the event organizer, who had earlier left the studio after buying food for those present. 

When he later returned at night, he found the studio door locked from the inside. Sensing that something was wrong, he sought help to gain entry.

Inside, the four individuals were discovered unresponsive. Authorities were immediately notified, and police officers arrived at the scene to begin investigations.

Preliminary observations by investigators indicated that there were no visible signs of physical struggle on the bodies or inside the studio. 

Officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause of death, saying that examinations and further inquiries are necessary before drawing conclusions.

The incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media, where many people have expressed sadness and called on authorities to ensure transparency in the investigation. 

Some users speculated about possible causes, including poor ventilation or generator fumes, but officials have cautioned the public against spreading unverified claims while investigations continue.

Friends and fans of the deceased gospel singer have also shared tributes, remembering him as a dedicated minister who used music to inspire faith and hope among listeners.

Police in Lagos have urged anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward. 

They have assured the public that efforts are underway to determine what happened and to provide answers to the affected families.
