"Tutamfanya Rais wa Kwanza One Term” Amisi Vows to Rally Kenyans To Stop Ruto’s 2027 Re-election Bid

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has doubled down on his political stance against President William Ruto, declaring he will spearhead efforts to ensure Ruto becomes a one-term president.

Amisi was speaking on Friday during a public gathering.

“Mweshimiwa William Ruto, tunaenda kukufanya ukuwe one term. Tutafanya Ruto awe rais wa kwanza kuenda wantam.”

Loosely translated, he vowed to make Ruto the first Kenyan president to serve only one term.

Amisi’s comments come amid growing criticism from the opposition and sections of the public over the rising cost of living, economic hardship, and what he describes as "empty promises" from the Kenya Kwanza administration.

The lawmaker accused President Ruto of failing to prioritize the needs of ordinary citizens and vowed to rally like-minded leaders and voters ahead of the 2027 general election.

In recent weeks, Amisi has been vocal in building a political front alongside youthful leaders such as Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Bumula MP Jack Wamboka, and Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga.

Their goal, according to Amisi, is to liberate the Western region from the political grip of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula—both key Ruto allies.

“Western inaenda kupewa mweleko na vijana kama sisi. Hatuhitaji Gachagua ama wale wengine. Sisi tuko tayari kupeleka Ruto nyumbani,” Amisi said during a recent fundraiser in Bungoma County.
