Speaking during the ongoing Linda Ground Tours in Siaya County, Passaris did not hold back as she accused Sifuna of making a political miscalculation by appearing to challenge the party’s direction and the broad-based government aligned to President William Ruto.
“Na wewe Sifuna usiwai kanyaga Nairobi na hio upuzi wako. Nairobi ni ya ODM na broad-based government ya President William Ruto, kwa hivyo sitakubali ukuje kugawa watu wetu,” Passaris declared.
Her remarks have sparked debate within political circles, especially among ODM supporters in Nairobi.
The vocal lawmaker insisted that Nairobi County remains firmly under ODM’s influence and warned that any attempt to divide party supporters would not succeed.
Passaris went further to suggest that Sifuna’s political future in Nairobi could be at risk if he continues on his current path.
“Wewe mambo yako na Nairobi imeisha. Huwezi pinga ODM na bado uchaguliwe Nairobi. Nairobi sasa hivi ni ya Jalango,” she added, referencing Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o.
The statement comes at a time when internal disagreements within ODM and the broader opposition coalition have become more visible ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Sifuna has in recent months taken firm positions on national matters, occasionally appearing to differ with certain leaders aligned to the broad-based political arrangement.
Political analysts say Passaris’ remarks signal growing tension within Nairobi’s political leadership. While ODM remains influential in the capital, shifting alliances and emerging ambitions could reshape the county’s political landscape in the coming months.
During her address, Passaris urged Sifuna to reflect and make what she termed the “right decision” before it is too late.

As the 2027 race slowly takes shape, it is clear that Nairobi will remain a battleground, with top leaders positioning themselves early for influence and control.
