In a post shared on her official X account on Tuesday, February 25, Pauline expressed outrage and disappointment, describing the comments as shameful and unacceptable in modern leadership.
“Goodness. What a shame! These remarks are not only distasteful, they are deeply primitive,” she wrote.
According to Pauline, verbal attacks that reduce women to objects have no place in contemporary political discourse.
She argued that such statements undermine the dignity of women and erode the standards expected of leaders entrusted with public responsibility.
She further warned that leaders who engage in sexist rhetoric not only damage their own reputations but also cast their political parties in a negative light.
“We cannot claim to champion progress while entertaining language that drags us backwards,” she implied in her broader commentary.
Pauline also referenced former ODM leader Raila Odinga, noting that he had built a legacy around defending women’s inclusion and dignity in leadership spaces.
She suggested that allowing such remarks to pass without strong condemnation would contradict the party’s long-standing progressive image.
“It would be profoundly disheartening to see the standards fall this low in a party that once prided itself on progressive values,” she stated.
In addition, Pauline expressed concern over what she termed as silence from senior women within ODM. She questioned why prominent female leaders in the party had not publicly condemned the statement.
“Even more troubling is the silence of women in the highest ranks of ODM, who have not condemned this statement,” she added.
Her reaction followed controversial remarks reportedly made by a male ODM politician during the Linda Ground event in Kisumu County.

The comments sparked backlash online, with many Kenyans calling for accountability and respectful engagement in political spaces.
The incident has reignited debate about gender respect, leadership standards, and the tone of political discourse in Kenya as the country gradually moves toward the 2027 election season.
