After the visit, Senator Methu condemned the attack, describing it as a serious violation of democratic principles and a threat to national unity. He emphasized that the use of force in a place of worship is unacceptable and undermines the religious freedom guaranteed to all Kenyans.
Gachagua briefed the delegation on the events, explaining that armed officers had entered an ACK church during a service, creating fear and panic among worshippers. The attack left children, women, and elderly members of the congregation traumatised.
After the meeting, Senator Methu expressed deep concern about the emotional impact of the attack on families who had gathered peacefully for prayer. He noted that violence in sacred spaces can have long-term psychological effects and erode public confidence in state institutions.
The senator also raised concerns about the lack of accountability following the incident. More than two days after the attack, no arrests had been made, despite assurances from authorities. Methu warned that this silence from security agencies risks increasing public anger and distrust.
