Wamuchomba Accuses Gachagua of Buying KSh130m Bulletproof Cars with Diaspora Funds

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has launched a scathing attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of exploiting his supporters and using diaspora funds for personal luxury.

Speaking through a fiery Facebook post, Wamuchomba alleged that Gachagua is intolerant of dissenting leaders and has abandoned close allies in times of political turmoil.

According to Wamuchomba, Gachagua solicited over KSh 600 million from Kenyans living in the United States during his recent tour.

She claims a significant portion of this money was spent on personal debts and the purchase of two bulletproof vehicles worth KSh 65 million each, complete with sound and jammer systems.

The MP criticized Gachagua for prioritizing his own security and comfort while neglecting supporters who faced police brutality during political campaigns.

Wamuchomba, who was previously a loyalist in Gachagua’s camp, accused him of inciting voters against leaders who oppose him.

“He has been attacking and abusing every leader who does not support his tribal narratives and venom,” she wrote, alleging that Gachagua has created political enemies across multiple counties, including Machakos.

She further claimed that Gachagua did not assist supporters who were injured or arrested during political rallies.

“When his close associates were arrested and put in cells, he abandoned them and went to the USA for a mugithi concert,” Wamuchomba said.

She noted that even vehicles damaged while defending him were never repaired, highlighting what she called a “pattern of self-interest at the expense of loyal supporters.”

The MP’s remarks come amid increasing scrutiny of Gachagua’s leadership style and use of funds raised from the diaspora.

While the former deputy president has yet to respond directly to these allegations, the accusations have sparked heated debate online, particularly among members of the Mount Kenya political bloc.
