For years, critics have pointed fingers at Junet, suggesting that as one of Raila Odinga’s closest confidants, he played a role in the strategic lapses that led to Azimio’s narrow defeat.
However, a defiant Junet has flipped the script, shifting the gaze toward the inner workings of the then-incumbent administration and the deep-seated ethnic voting patterns in Kenya.
Addressing the heavy allegations regarding the missing agent funds, Junet was blunt.
He has denied ever handling the money, instead claiming that the resources for poll agents were managed by those closer to the system at the time specifically mentioning figures within the Kenyatta family circles.
"My role was to campaign and engage the people," Junet has told host Jeff Koinange. "If Baba had won, I would be a big man today. Why would I sabotage a victory that I stood to benefit from most?"
