The MP pointed to Osotsi’s past political history, recalling his fallout with Musalia Mudavadi during his time in the Amani National Congress. According to Kaluma, those disagreements weakened party unity and eventually pushed Osotsi out. He argued that the same pattern is now playing out within ODM.
Kaluma noted that ODM welcomed Osotsi at a time when he needed political support. Former Party leader Raila Odinga gave him space to grow and later elevated him to the powerful position of Deputy Party Leader. This, Kaluma said, was a clear sign of trust and goodwill from the party leadership.
The lawmaker expressed disappointment that Osotsi is now accused of fueling internal tension within ODM. He said this behavior is especially troubling given that the party is still adjusting after the death of its long-time leader, Raila Odinga. Kaluma argued that this is a sensitive moment that calls for unity and discipline, not internal fights.
Kaluma advised Osotsi to leave ODM peacefully if he is uncomfortable with the party’s direction. He suggested that the senator should instead align himself with the political camp linked to Rigathi Gachagua, the former Deputy President.
