Good News as Gathoni Wamuchomba Gives Update On Bill Seeking to Monitor Churches After Meeting President Ruto

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has revealed that the proposed Religious Control parliamentary bill seeking to check the freedoms of churches and houses of worship has been withdrawn.

According to Wamuchomba, the bill was withdrawn following elected leaders' lobby to the executive on January 26, 2026, at State House during a UDA party National Governing Council meeting chaired by President William Ruto.

She affirmed that President Ruto pledged to complete stalled roads in her constituency among other projects, adding the party remains united and strong.
