Wanga dismissed Wetang’ula’s remarks as misleading and out of touch with political realities. She argued that ODM does not need guidance from leaders whose political parties have steadily lost influence over the years.
The governor suggested that Wetang’ula would be better placed focusing on rebuilding Ford Kenya instead of commenting on the internal affairs of other parties.
She maintained that ODM remains one of the country’s most structured and influential political organisations. According to Wanga, the party continues to enjoy widespread grassroots support and a clear political direction despite changes in leadership and shifting alliances.
Wanga also defended internal debates within ODM, saying they are a normal part of any democratic party. She explained that such discussions help strengthen party structures and prepare for future elections, rather than weakening the organisation.
She warned against turning internal party dialogue into political attacks, stressing that open engagement is essential for growth and stability in any political movement.
