A woman in Busia County is currently under investigation after being accused of falsely claiming to be a General Service Unit (GSU) officer.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) launched the probe following a raid on her home in Bugoma County, where several items were recovered that fueled suspicions of impersonation.
Reports from Citizen TV indicate that police discovered clothing hidden in the toilet, a finding that immediately drew attention. In addition, a box containing a full GSU uniform and a pair of official shoes was seized.
All items were confiscated to assist in the ongoing investigation and to determine whether they were being used to carry out fraudulent activities under the guise of a government officer.
The DCI has confirmed that the woman will stay in custody until the completion of the investigation, after which she will face formal charges in court.
The agency further warned the public that anyone attempting to impersonate government personnel, including GSU officers, would be rigorously pursued and prosecuted.
Authorities stressed that such acts undermine public trust and threaten the credibility of law enforcement agencies.
This case serves as a reminder that attempts to deceive the government are treated with utmost seriousness, and the DCI pledged to maintain strict vigilance to prevent similar incidents in the future.
