"Sasa Tumejua Ukweli." CCTV Footage Finally Reveal Jirongo's Last Two Minutes Before His Accident

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said it has obtained and reviewed CCTV footage from Eagle Fuel Station near the crash scene, shedding light on events preceding the collision.

The video shows Cyrus Jirongo entering the station from the Nairobi side at 2:18:40 a.m., according to investigators outlining the initial timeline, captured clearly on security cameras there.

Minutes later, he reportedly stopped near the exit lane before turning his vehicle back toward Nairobi, a movement visible shortly before the crash as investigators review footage carefully.

Police say seconds later, at 2:19:25 a.m., a passenger bus traveling from Nakuru struck his car along the highway, causing the collision that prompted emergency response teams immediately.

Investigators clarified that the deceased did not enter the station to refuel, dismissing speculation while emphasizing evidence-based conclusions drawn from cameras, vehicle positions, timestamps, and witness statements collected.

DCI officials noted a detailed forensic review of the footage is ongoing to establish vehicle speeds, driver behavior, and precise movements before the impact using digital analysis tools.

The crash has renewed calls for caution near fuel stations, where merging traffic, visibility challenges, and split-second decisions often heighten risks for motorists, passengers, and public safety advocates.

Authorities urged witnesses with additional recordings or information to cooperate, saying transparency will help deliver accountability and closure to affected families, survivors, investigators, courts, and the wider public.

As inquiries continue, police have appealed for patience while findings are compiled, verified, and shared through official channels in accordance with the law, due process, and procedure.

The DCI said it will release further updates once analysis concludes, underscoring its commitment to thorough, impartial investigations that serve justice, road safety, and public trust nationwide.
