RIP: Photo Of Young Boy Who Died After Mysterious Chicken Attack While Sleeping

A family in Songe, Tanzania, is mourning the death of their 13-year-old son, Yosia Benjamini, who died after being attacked by a chicken while he was asleep.

The strange and heartbreaking incident has shocked many people in the Majengo area and beyond.

According to his father, Benjamini Makelo, Yosia was sleeping at home when he suddenly woke up screaming in pain.

A chicken had jumped on his bed and started pecking his face and eyes.

His mother rushed to help him after hearing his cries. The boy was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

“At first, we thought it was a small injury,” said Makelo. “The doctor checked him and gave him some painkillers. The chicken also looked normal, so we did not think it was serious.”

However, a few days later, Yosia’s condition got worse. His eyes became swollen, and he started having severe headaches and diarrhoea.

The family took him back to the hospital, but the doctors could not find what was wrong with him.

Out of fear and confusion, they decided to seek prayers at church, hoping that he would recover. Sadly, his condition continued to worsen, and he later died.

The tragedy has left the community in disbelief. Some villagers believe the death was caused by witchcraft or spiritual powers, saying it was unusual for a child to die from a chicken attack.

Others, including medical officers, believe the boy may have died from an infection caused by the peck wounds.

“This is very strange. We have never seen such a thing before,” said the village chairman. “People should avoid sleeping in the same room with animals because it can be dangerous.”

On social media, many people expressed sympathy and shared emotional messages. Some blamed witchcraft, while others urged families to take animal bites and injuries seriously.

“This is very sad. No parent should go through such pain,” wrote one user.
