"Insensitive" Javan Mc Ajudo Under Fire After Linking Raila Odinga to Fatal Road Accident Statement

Ohangla musician Javan McAjudo has come under heavy criticism online following a press statement he released after his vehicle was involved in a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a boda boda rider.

The accident occurred on Friday, December 26, along the Katito–Kendu Bay Road in the Harambee area. 

According to reports, the rider died at the scene after the collision.

Eyewitnesses alleged that the vehicle was moving at high speed at the time of the crash, with some claiming that the occupants appeared intoxicated. 

Authorities are yet to issue an official report on the cause of the accident.

Following the incident, Javan released a statement expressing sorrow and offering condolences to the family of the deceased. 

However, the message quickly sparked outrage after fans noticed repeated references to ODM leader Raila Odinga, which many felt were inappropriate and insensitive given the circumstances.

In the statement, the singer compared the pain of the accident to the loss of Raila Odinga, saying he had never imagined experiencing anything more painful. 

This comparison angered many fans, who felt the focus should have remained solely on the victim and their family.

Javan also said he only learned about the boda boda rider’s death after regaining consciousness in hospital, describing the news as deeply devastating and life-changing.

He went on to pledge that he would meet the funeral expenses of the deceased and fully cooperate with investigators as the matter is handled by the authorities.

Despite these assurances, public anger intensified after the closing lines of the statement, where Javan appeared to make a remark linking the deceased to Raila Odinga in a way many fans found disrespectful.

Social media users accused the musician of trivialising loss of life and using a political figure to draw sympathy. 

Several questioned why Raila Odinga needed to be mentioned at all in a statement addressing a tragic road accident.

As criticism grew, Javan deleted the statement from his social media pages. However, screenshots had already circulated widely, keeping the debate alive.

Some fans described the message as poorly thought out, while others said it showed a lack of sensitivity toward the victim’s family. 

Calls for a proper apology and a more respectful response continued to trend online.

The incident has reignited conversations about how public figures handle crisis communication, especially in situations involving loss of life.

Meanwhile, investigations into the accident are ongoing as police continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
