NTV's recent investigation has brought new information to light about the tragic accident that resulted in the death of Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.
Reports indicate that there may have been more to the story than initially believed, particularly concerning the passengers on the Climax bus involved in the crash.
Early statements from the driver of the bus claimed that there were 65 passengers on board during the accident.
However, NTV's thorough investigation has shown that these claims do not hold up.
Cameras from local businesses and petrol stations reveal that there were likely no passengers present on the bus when the crash occurred.
This discrepancy raises serious questions about the driver's initial account.
According to the driver, Jirongo was overtaking on the wrong side of the road at high speed when the collision took place.
Yet, NTV has obtained footage that shows there was no head-on crash as described.
Instead, the evidence suggests that the circumstances surrounding the accident may not be as straightforward as initially reported.
Further complicating the situation, insiders have raised concerns that there could be a cover-up by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The reasons behind such actions remain unclear, and speculation has grown about whose interests are at stake.
Some reports suggest that Jirongo may have been at a Nairobi hotel just hours before his death in Naivasha, but hotel management has denied these claims, stating that Jirongo was not there.
Moreover, NTV found footage of a vehicle, identified as a probox, following Jirongo's car during the lead-up to the accident.
Despite cameras capturing this information, the DCI has not commented on the presence of this vehicle, adding to the growing sense of mistrust surrounding the investigation.
