CCTV Footage Raises Doubts Over Cyrus Jirongo’s Death, Contradicting Bus Driver’s Claims

New revelations have emerged following the death of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo after a fatal road crash at Karai along the Nairobi-Naivasha highway, with CCTV footage casting doubt on earlier accounts of how the accident occurred.

The footage obtained from a petrol station shows that moments before the crash, Jirongo drove into the station from the Nairobi direction but did not stop to refuel.

Instead, he made a brief turn within the premises and exited almost immediately.

Contrary to claims by the bus driver involved in the collision, the footage indicates that the highway was clear at the time, with no traffic congestion or overtaking taking place.

Records from the surveillance system show that only seconds after Jirongo exited the station, his vehicle collided with a bus heading toward Naivasha.

The impact caused the bus to drag his car for a distance before coming to a halt.

The footage further shows minimal activity at the scene afterward, raising questions about the presence and response of passengers who were reportedly on board the bus.

Additional intrigue has arisen after another vehicle, a white Probox, was captured entering the same petrol station less than half a minute after Jirongo.

The short time gap has fuelled speculation that the former legislator may have been followed shortly before the crash.

Analysts reviewing the sequence of events suggest the movements were unusual and warrant further scrutiny.

Separately, it has been established that Jirongo missed a planned social engagement earlier that evening and was later seen at a different venue before embarking on the journey that ended in tragedy.

Authorities have also confirmed that the vehicle involved in the crash was registered to a company and not directly owned by Jirongo.

The emerging details have intensified calls for deeper investigations into the final moments of the former legislator.
